Catherine Westbury

Founder

Personal

After living in Virginia and New York, Cathy moved to Colorado in 2000. Cathy loves to transcend ordinary tourism, opting instead for exotic destinations like the savanna of Tanzania, Easter Island, and even Antarctica. She is naturally interested in anything related to science and pursues this interest by giving back to the community and volunteering weekly at the Space Odyssey exhibit at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Always in the mood for good coffee and tea, Cathy busies herself volunteering and planning her next big adventure when she is not hard at work.

Professional

Cathy is a 14x certified Salesforce Application Architect, a software developer, and a physicist. Her background is somewhat nontraditional for a software developer. Using the skills she honed as a scientist – critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail – Cathy founded cfwestbury with the self-driven passion and technical training needed to diagnose problems, explain processes, and simplify solutions for a more understandable experience.

Testimonials

“I originally hired Cathy to help us streamline and standardize the Salesforce processes we’ve had in place for the CPR Underwriting team for several years, and to train the newer members of our sales staff. Having worked with Cathy at a previous company, I knew she would be efficient and effective at training our inexperienced account managers, and in helping me establish best practices for the team. After having her in for two full days of training (the sales team requested the second day with her!) we realized we had gotten much more than basic instruction. Cathy helped us clean up our database; simplified and customized the Salesforce User Interface, and identified new reporting opportunities that will make Salesforce a more effective tool for the entire team. Based on what we learned in these initial sessions with Cathy, I have already asked her to come back for quarterly checkups in our next fiscal year. She is a consummate professional, and a pleasure to work with!”

– Cynthia Railsback, Director of Corporate Support, Colorado Public Radio

“One of the big projects I participated in upon joining the InVitria team was the development of some major upgrades to our Salesforce platform to ensure data integrity, implement new ordering systems, and standardize our lead handling protocol. As someone who had zero Salesforce experience at the time, this was a daunting and challenging task. Luckily, we enlisted the help of Cathy. She is extremely knowledgeable and skilled with regards to all things Salesforce and without her, this task would have been exponentially more difficult and time consuming. Our team has a variety of people with varying expertise when it comes to technology and applications, and Cathy was extremely patient when dealing with the most basic, to the most challenging questions and problems we presented. Cathy’s work was high quality and always completed in a timely manner. I’m looking forward to having the pleasure of continuing to work with her on future Salesforce projects.”

– Eric Edwards, Product Marketing Associate, InVitria

“Cathy was a pleasure to work with. She helped migrate a series of fundraising/development processes from an antiquated donor database to our system of choice, Salesforce. It was an incredible project for us, as we had only been using portions of Salesforce in the past. With the new functionality, we now have the ability to connect data dots in ways we only dreamed about before. From the initial stages of helping our organization determine our requirements for the system to helping upgrade the overall platform, the process was very engaging and always took into consideration the “RMMFI Way” of doing things. This was incredibly important for us, as we did not want to change who we are because of a technology tool. The project culminated with a supportive training on the new functionality and a commitment to help work out any outstanding questions or bugs that popped up. Overall, the project was a great success for our organization.”

– Rob Smith, Executive Director, Rocky Mountain MicroFinance Institute

“We have been working with Cathy for over a year and only have good things to say. Cathy has helped us to customize our NPSP and make our development office more productive and efficient. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Salesforce and has always found a solution to meet our needs. She is quick to respond to any questions or problems we may be having and is an absolute pleasure to work with. If you need help with Salesforce, look no further!”

Kristen Herbert, Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center

“We had no idea what to expect from Salesforce and were excited about the possibilities with Cathy in the lead of our project to set up Salesforce to be as efficient and useful for our non-profit. Cathy has extreme expertise in the product’s use and capacity and has an ability to teach what she knows so that we were able to carry on once the project was finished. Cathy was able to set up the software for us and worked closely with us every step of the way. Cathy’s patience with us (we are a tiny non-profit) was extraordinary. We appreciate this more that she knew –- as we juggle what seems to be 25 top priorities at once –- hoping no one notices we might be behind. We cannot thank Cathy enough and are available for further information should anyone considering Cathy’s services need to contact us.”

Gail Godwin and Marney Lumpkin, Shared Support Maryland, Inc.

A Word from Cathy

“It is said that ‘physicists train for the unknown’, and I take that adage to heart. When I was a research scientist, I worked on many interesting and diverse topics and questions, none of which had a known outcome or path to follow towards the solution. It took research and problem-solving skills — both of which I excel at — to get results. As a Salesforce consultant, I apply these skills to help my clients get the best solutions for their business needs.”
